SHIA YIH-YIING from Kuching, Sarawak, winning a scholarship from the Malaysian Institute of Arts drew her to KL and subsequently gained a Diploma in Fine Art. A series of sentimental and symbolic family portraits has strengthen her dedication to be an artist and won her a fellowship from the Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship in Art & Craft. The sojourn to Australia, initiate a research study in visual art at the School of Contemporary Art, University of Western Sydney. Since then, her art works is becoming more metaphorical and playful.
